West Virginia Photography - Field of Red
Field of Red
Tundra-like windswept open meadows at Nature Conservancy's Bear Rocks Preserve in West Virginia have subalpine heath barrens of blueberry, cranberry, huckleberry, rose azalea, and rosebay rhododendron. Fall weather brightens this regions’ glowing red fields of color against formations of white sandstone and quartz.
