We had passed by this particular stretch of farmland numerous times over the years. We were caught by surprise the day the weathered fence post was accented by a clump of volunteer wild flowers.

Among The Branches

Following a snowstorm, this beautiful pair of Northern Cardinals spent most of the day perching on the branches of a tree on a hilltop clearing just beyond the woods to where they flew back and forth to their home. It was a very cold day, and we were amused at how the male bird fluffed his feathers against the cold.

A Struggle In The Elements

While traversing mountains in West Virginia after a fresh fallen snow, we encountered these two bucks engaged in a struggle for dominance. Although “rutting” can get aggressive, this day was more of a slow play. Their session lingered on and they seemed to not care how close we had accidentally wandered near before we noticed them. We suspect this was more play after establishing dominance as it was late January and long after several snowfalls.

Peacock‘s Splendor

Early one morning, this peacock‘s profile was captured as he sat perched on a fence post beside the road. A combination of several images, the peacock glows in this digital painting.

Mama‘s Sunflowers

These colorful beauties filled Becky‘s mom‘s garden one year capturing our attention. This digital painting used the vivid colors of the sunflowers to pop against the rich teals of a handmade textured paper.

We shot this rooster with his girls at the Miller Haus Bed and Breakfast in Walnut Creek, Ohio. They used the fresh eggs for their country breakfast, yum!

The Gathering Place

This vibrant purple thistle makes a colorful gathering place for a variety of moths and bees. Although considered a common weed, these blooms brighten the fields of West Virginia. This image has been digitally painted from an original photograph and blended with an enhancing texture.
