The Quilting Barn

This classic barn, that we captured on a misty morning, has been blended and intertwined with a photograph we took of a beautiful quilt pattern by West Virginia quilter Jane Frenke. This captures the essence of Appalachian craftsmanship and the surrounding environment. View OPTIONS to see framing options and the location of the hidden state.

Wildwood

Wildwood

“Enjoy your journey while heading to your destination” proved to be wise advice as we climbed up to the rim of the Eastern Continental Divide. Around 3,000 feet we became mesmerized by the fog, glow of sunlight and never ending wildwoods. The fog became so thick it seemed to drizzle rain as we were within the clouds. Traveling downward was more of a challenge during this night as our flashlights barely made out the path back to civilization. Woodland Sunset

Woodland Sunset

This view was from a hilltop meadow surrounded by woods. From this vantage point, on a winter evening, we captured a beautiful sunset through the filter of the tree branches. We loved the contrast of the fiery reds and oranges of the sky against the cool blue and purple hills.

Reflections

Reflections

We had admired this barn for quite some time but never could get the right shot after several attempts. We finally waded through the swampy woods and were rewarded with this beautiful reflection off the water. This impressionistic digital painting was crafted to enhance the dreamy state of the natural reflections. View OPTIONS to see framing options and the location of the hidden state.

Peacock‘s Splendor

Peacock‘s Splendor

Early one morning, this peacock‘s profile was captured as he sat perched on a fence post beside the road. A combination of several images, the peacock glows in this digital painting. View OPTIONS to see framing options and the location of the hidden state.

Autumn’s Last Hurrah

Autumn’s Last Hurrah

This view was from a hilltop meadow surrounded by woods. From this vantage point, on a winter evening, we captured a beautiful sunset through the filter of the tree branches. We loved the contrast of the fiery reds and oranges of the sky against the cool blue and purple hills.

Mama‘s Sunflowers

Mama‘s Sunflowers

These colorful beauties filled Becky‘s mom‘s garden one year capturing our attention. This digital painting used the vivid colors of the sunflowers to pop against the rich teals of a handmade textured paper. View OPTIONS to see framing options and the location of the hidden state.

Whisper

Whisper

Dolly Sods Wilderness, West Virginia. When the fog settles this thick, everything is muted — the colors, the scents, the sounds. The world around us is blanketed in such a peaceful mist that we don’t want to disturb it with words, and so, we whisper. View OPTIONS to see framing options and the location of the hidden state.

Struttin‘

Struttin‘

We shot this rooster with his girls at the Miller Haus Bed and Breakfast in Walnut Creek, Ohio. They used the fresh eggs for their country breakfast, yum! View OPTIONS to see framing options and the location of the hidden state.

The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place

This vibrant purple thistle makes a colorful gathering place for a variety of moths and bees. Although considered a common weed, these blooms brighten the fields of West Virginia. This image has been digitally painted from an original photograph and blended with an enhancing texture. View OPTIONS to see framing options and the location of the hidden state.

Digital Painting

With digital painting, we blend our talents for photography, illustration, and graphic design to create unique works of art. These paintings include one or more or our original photos blended together with the addition of painterly brush techniques and the utilization of several software programs. The process can take several weeks and the result is fresh, dynamic digital paintings with layers of texture and vivid color.
