West Virginia Photography - Last Light
Last Light
Blueberry bushes and cranberry bogs catch the last glimpse of sunlight as it sets over Bear Rocks Nature Preserve in West Virginia. This preserve was once timbered clean and then caught fire which burnt to the bedrock. Only the toughest plants and trees learned to grow here. As they encounter turbulent winds daily spruce trees tend to lean with the wind and grow needles on the side away from the wind streams.
